Judith L. Herrmann joined the firm in 1996, and her practice focuses on employment law and insurance law. Judith’s employment practice includes defending employers in administrative proceedings and litigation and advising employers on a variety of employment issues including drafting employee handbooks and contracts, counseling employers on difficult employee issues, and providing training on harassment, disability, FMLA, and documentation issues. Judith’s insurance practice focuses on complex insurance coverage issues.
Judith is listed in the 2021 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Employment Law- Management. She has also consistently been recognized and ranked in Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (Labor and Employment Law), from 2013-2018. Judith was also recognized in Super Lawyers 2016-2018 for Labor and Employment.
Judith participates in Lane & Waterman’s robust pro bono program that includes pro bono initiatives in Illinois and Iowa. She has repeatedly been recognized by the Iowa Supreme Court for her pro bono service. Under Judith’s leadership, Lane & Waterman was included on the Public Interest Law Initiative’s Pro Bono Recognition Roster. Judith also coordinates the firm’s co-sponsor of a pro bono fellow through Equal Justice Works.
Judith received her B.A. from Augustana College, and her J.D., summa cum laude, from Valparaiso University. Judith resides with her family in Bettendorf, Iowa.
