Abbey Furlong and David Waterman successfully defended a Western Illinois chiropractor
Abbey Furlong and David Waterman successfully defended a Western Illinois chiropractor in a professional malpractice action arising in Rock Island County, Illinois. The Plaintiff alleged a chiropractic adjustment in January 2017 caused her to suffer transient stroke-like symptoms and other injuries. Plaintiff requested an award in excess of $500,000. The defense presented evidence that the chiropractic treatment was appropriate and not the cause of any of Plaintiff’s injuries, which were solely related to a pre-existing injury. After a five-day jury trial, the jury deliberated for approximately one hour before returning a defense verdict, finding no fault in the doctor’s care and treatment of Plaintiff.
