Kyle B. Vancil

Biography

Kyle Vancil’s practice focuses on intellectual property and technology-driven businesses, with an emphasis on information technology, start-ups, and media industries. He helps clients identify, protect, and commercialize their intellectual property through trademarks, copyrights, and patents, and advises on licensing and technology agreements. Kyle particularly enjoys working with early-stage companies and founders, helping them translate their ideas into clear, practical legal frameworks that support long-term growth.

Before law school, Kyle spent nearly a decade as an analytical chemist. That technical background gives him a practical understanding of how products, processes, and data actually work—experience he draws on when counseling clients in life sciences, manufacturing, and other innovation-heavy fields. He is comfortable digging into the details of complex technology and using that understanding to guide clients through IP strategy, risk assessment, and contract negotiations.

Kyle received his B.A from Monmouth College and earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2025. Kyle lives in Muscatine with his wife and cats.
