Lane & Waterman attorneys Grace Mangieri and Jenny Juehring successfully represented two individuals at a bench trial in a defamation lawsuit in Scott County District Court. Lane & Waterman’s clients alleged that the defendant posted defamatory statements concerning them on social media repeatedly over a number of years, falsely accusing them of crimes and dishonesty. A judge, after hearing all the evidence at a bench trial, issued a ruling finding that the defendant had defamed Lane & Waterman’s clients with her repeated and false statements made publicly on social media. The Court awarded monetary damages to Lane & Waterman’s clients to compensate them for the harm caused by the defendant’s defamatory statements.

Grace Mangieri joined Lane & Waterman in 2019. Her civil litigation practice primarily consists of professional malpractice, products liability, personal injury, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Lane & Waterman, Grace practiced law in Chicago with a focus in toxic torts, environmental proceedings, white collar investigations, and regulatory compliance.

Jenny Juehring joined Lane & Waterman in 2020. Her practice primarily focuses on commercial litigation, municipal litigation, and appellate practice. Jenny is also experienced in employment litigation, medical malpractice, and trusts and estates litigation.
