Biography

Nick is an Associate Attorney, who focuses his practice on commercial and residential real estate and represents property owners and prospective buyers, guiding them through each stage of a transaction with an emphasis on clear communication and careful attention to detail. Nick began his legal career in 2020 in Chicago, Illinois where he handled a high volume of real estate transactions. His work included contract review and negotiation, ensuring clean title, and managing closings from start to finish. He also assisted clients with 1031 exchanges. That experience has given him a keen eye for the details that can delay or derail a deal, and he works to identify and problem solve potential issues early on. Throughout his practice, Nick has come to appreciate that buying or selling property is often one of the most significant decisions a person can make, and he works to make that process as smooth and stress free as possible. Whether a client is purchasing a first home, selling a long-held property, or acquiring commercial real estate, Nick provides practical and responsive counsel tailored to his client’s goals.

Nick joined Lane & Waterman in September of 2026 and is committed to building lasting relationships with clients throughout the community as well as building up his practice to become a proficient legal asset. Nick earned his undergraduate degree from St. Ambrose University, where he completed a political science major with a pre-law concentration.  Nick then received his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2020. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and is pursuing admission in Iowa.

A native of Marengo, Illinois, Nick now lives in Bettendorf, Iowa, with his wife Anne and their labradoodle, Ruby. Outside the office, he enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and can often be found taking long walks with his wife and dog.
