Lane & Waterman attorney Ian Russell co-presented for the program, “First Year Associate Success: Tips, Advice, and Strategies” on Thursday, April 13 at the University of Iowa College of Law. The presentation highlighted some key strategies for having a positive first year associate experience, including the importance of building and protecting your reputation, working with other attorneys, billing, discovery, and depositions.

The presentation was part of outreach by the Illinois Defense Counsel Association. The IDC’s mission is to ensure civil justice with integrity, civility, and professional competence. Its members are Illinois attorneys who devote a substantial part of their practice to representing business, insurance, professional, or individual defendants in civil litigation.
