Lane & Waterman is pleased to welcome back Maria Waterman as Of Counsel, effective June 1, 2026. Maria worked for Lane & Waterman early in her career, becoming a partner in 1992. Maria operated her solo practice for years and is proud to be back. In her 39 years of practice, Maria has handled high conflict, high income, and other complex family law cases involving business evaluations, custody disputes, spousal support, and premarital agreements. She continues to represent individuals in Family Law and conducts Family Law Mediation.

Maria resides in Pleasant Valley, Iowa with her husband, Iowa Supreme Court Justice, Tom Waterman. They have four adult children and two grandchildren.
