Lane & Waterman attorney Doug Lindstrom presented at the 2016 All-Iowa Bankruptcy Conference on Thursday, September 8th in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His presentation focused on setoff and recoupment. Setoff is the netting of mutual, unrelated debts between two parties, which is restricted by the bankruptcy code.  Recoupment is the netting of claims between two parties that arise from the same transaction or occurrence, which is not restricted by the bankruptcy code.

The All-Iowa Bankruptcy Conference is jointly presented by the Iowa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Bankruptcy Seminars, Inc. Doug joined 10 Federal Judges speaking on consumer, business, debtors, and creditors bankruptcy issues.
