Lane & Waterman Remembers Former Partner Jeffrey W. Paul
Lane & Waterman is saddened by the loss of its former partner Jeffrey W. Paul, who practiced at Lane & Waterman from 1989 to 2012. Jeff joined Lane & Waterman after graduating, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law. As an estate planning and probate attorney, Jeff spent his 23-year career helping clients plan their legacies. To all those who knew Jeff, he left behind his own legacy; he passed on to us the importance of hard work, a positive outlook, and constant kindness. Jeff was a member of the Quad City Estate Planning Council and the National Committee on Planned Giving and was active in various community organizations including CASI, the Davenport Good Samaritan Center, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
“We are fortunate to have enjoyed Jeff’s wonderful personality and spirit for life,” Mike Byrne said of his long-time partner. Diane Puthoff shared, “Jeff was an incredible mentor and friend to me. In my short 10 years of working with Jeff I learned a lot about law, but more than that, I learned about how to care for clients. Jeff was patient and thoughtful in his approach with clients and mentoring new attorneys.” We were fortunate to work with Jeff and he is fondly remembered by all. Though we mourn Jeff’s loss, we celebrate his well-lived life.
