Abbey Furlong Presents to Health Care Students at St. Ambrose University
Presenting to a group of physical therapy graduate students at St. Ambrose University’s Health Science Center on Monday, Lane & Waterman attorney Abbey Furlong discussed the ways in which health care professionals are governed by various laws and regulations and certain legal issues that may arise during their future practice.
“The general public commonly thinks of HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act when they think about health care law, but there are many other considerations for those working in health care, from ethics and cases of fraud to document management and data security,” Abbey told the students assembled.
Abbey’s health care law presentation is a semiannual partnership between the University and Lane & Waterman to offer St. Ambrose University graduate physical therapy students in Dr. John Barr’s class with practical knowledge about legal issues in the health care field.
