Ben Patterson and Jenny Juehring successfully defended a local hospital in a medical malpractice lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleged the nurses at the hospital were negligent in their assessment and treatment of a patient’s surgical wound and failed to recognize and report signs and symptoms of an infection. The plaintiff sought approximately $1 million in damages at trial. The 7-day trial ended with the Scott County jury returning a unanimous verdict finding the hospital nurses were not negligent.
