Tell us a little about your background and what led you to pursue a career in law

I studied Business and Ethics & Public Policy as an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa. The combination of my undergraduate degrees and my desire to directly help people and serve as an advocate is what led me to pursue a legal career.

What was your favorite class in law school?

My favorite class in law school was either Employment Discrimination or Health Law. My professors in these classes made them stand out since I was able to both learn the law and also given opportunities to practically apply my skills in the classroom. I now have a continued interest in these areas of law as I hope to incorporate employment law and health law into my practice.

What drew you to Lane & Waterman, and why did you decide to join the firm?

Being from the Quad Cities originally, I was drawn to Lane & Waterman because of its strong reputation within the community. The opportunity to create a real impact on the Quad Cities community was important to me when choosing where to begin my legal career. Additionally, the opportunity to explore different areas of the law early on in my legal career led me to join the firm.

What aspects of your work are you most excited about?

I am most excited to interact with clients and to have the opportunity to help people as they navigate legal issues. As I gain legal expertise, I look forward to becoming a trusted advisor to clients.

What is something we would not guess about you?

I played basketball growing up and always attended the Iowa Women’s Basketball summer camps. As a lifelong women’s basketball fan, getting to be in Iowa City during the exciting rise of women’s basketball was a highlight of my law school experience! Now, I play less basketball but love to find other ways to stay active and am always watching Hawkeye sports.
